Calibrating a relative humidity meter is usually expensive and time consuming as it involves the use of highly accurate and stable climatic chambers.

The HI 7102 Hanna calibration chamber uses Lithium Chloride and Sodium Chlorine salts to create a known relative humidity within a small chamber into which the probe can be introduced. In this way a low relative humidity and a high relative humidity atmosphere can be generated and the meter checked against these saturated salt solution atmospheres.
