Chemical oxygen demand (COD) is one of the most important parameters for assessing water quality. It shows how much oxygen is needed to chemically oxidise the organic and inorganic matter in a sample, which makes it a key indicator of pollution in wastewater, process water and surface water. Regular COD testing helps treatment plants, industries and laboratories monitor treatment efficiency, meet discharge requirements and react quickly when something changes.
